The Shorkey Center exists to provide services for the individual with special needs.
These services include effective physical, occupational, and speech rehabilitation;
direct education services including therapy for children with autism and other related
disorders; and parent assistance support.

Equipment Lending Library

Equipment - In the summer of 2005, the Shorkey Center was awarded a Community Development and Block Grant (CDBG) from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to expand it's Lending Library. Due to the generosity of people in our Community, the Lending Library is stocked with wheelchairs, walkers, standers, crutches & other equipment for children and young adults with disabilities. As children grow their equipment must be updated and often it could take several months before the children receive their new equipment. When children are in need of temporary equipment the Shorkey Center Lending Library is there for them.

Donations - If you would like to donate to the Shorkey Center Lending Library please call 409-838-6568
